We’ve heard a rumor (and now some what verified) that AT&T is considering restricting and/or charging extra for FaceTime calls over its 3G and 4G networks.
The rumor comes from Apple’s own iOS6 discussion boards and a new error message that comes up for persons running the iOS6 Beta 3 operating system. Due to the Non Discloser Agreement, we cannot show you the actual error but we can say that the error states to “contact AT&T for more information about FaceTime over cellular network.”
In the meantime, AT&T has issued a ‘statement’ on the subject, which reads:
“We’re working closely with Apple on the new developer build of iOS 6 and we’ll share more information with our customers as it becomes available.”
More on this as it becomes available.
