If you were running the developer or public version of macOS Monterey and want to ensure you’re running the latest version, here are two ways to tell:

  1. Go to System Preferences > Software Update.
  2. The window that will open will say “Your Mac is up to Date.” with a time that your Mac last checked for an update.
  3. However, if the time shows when you last turned on your Mac, here’s a way to get a current update.
  4. Click the icon on the top of the window (next to System Preferences) to go back to the main menu.
  5. Click Software Update AGAIN.
  6. The update will then check for the latest update.
  7. That’s it.

This little known tip will ensure that you’re running the latest version of MacOS.
