NASA Counting Down to “Launch America”

Preparations continue across NASA for the first launch of American astronauts on an American rocket from American soil since 2011. Launch is scheduled for 4:32 p.m. EDT on May 27.

The mission is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew program, which encourages industry to provide human transportation services to and from low-Earth orbit, so that NASA can expand its focus on building spacecraft and rockets for deep space missions
