How to use the SOS Feature on Apple Watch

Starting with WatchOS3, Apple has added a new way for someone to get assistance while waring his/her Apple Watch. It’s called the Emergency SOS feature.

Here’s how to enable it:

First, make sure the feature is enabled on the watch from the iPhone.
Go to Apple Watch App > General > Emergency SOS.
Make sure the above is turned ON.
On the same screen, tap the Add Contact option.
This will bring up your contacts.
Select the person(s) that you wish to contact during an emergency.

To activate the Emergency SOS feature:

Press and hold the side bar button for six seconds.
A menu will pop-up with the “Emergency SOS” option.
Tap it.
It will then send a text message to your contacts letting them know that you’ve contacted 9-1-1.
That’s it.
