AirDrop is another way for Mac and iOS users to share files with one another.  Both parties must have AirDrop enabled.  When someone wants to send a file to another, the receiving party gets a message asking them if they want to receive a file.

Sometimes, a user may want to disable this option for one reason or another. Its simple to do.

Here’s how:

  1. Open Mac’s Finder.
  2. Go to “AirDrop” in the Finder window sidebar, or pull down the Go menu and choose AirDrop from there.
  3. Click the small blue text at the bottom of the AirDrop window that says “Allow me to be discovered by:” and select “No One” to turn AirDrop off.
  4. That’s it.

How to you enable Airdrop?

Here’s how:

  1. Open Finder on Mac.
  2. Go to “AirDrop” in the Finder window sidebar, or pull down the Go menu and choose AirDrop.
  3. Click the “Allow me to be discovered by:” text at the bottom of the window and choose “Contacts Only” or “Everyone”.
  4. That’s it.
