VPNs are nice, especially when you use public WiFi access a lot.  They are also recommended if you do a lot of financial access.  But sometimes, those VPN services can make your access a living hell.

While some VPNs are online 99.9% of the time, others may have to go offline for one reason or another.  It is at those times when your Internet access may either show down, or become non-existent.  When that happens. try the following:

  • Reboot the phone or computer – Regardless of what you’re using the VPN on, resetting the device may help.
  • Logout of the VPN – Logging out and then back in may fix the problem.
  • Choose another VPN server – The VPN server is what you go onto to use the service.  There is usually more than one.  Login into another one.
  • Uninstall the VPN software – Do this as a last resort!
  • Call the VPN’s customer support – They may be able to direct you to other ideas for your type of setup.
