Winter is coming here in the U.S.  That means colder and dryer days are ahead.  That also means the rise of static electricity.

Static Electricity is caused by dry air when the temperature outside gets below 40 degrees above zero.  Besides having to deal with the cold, now one has to worry about accidentally blowing out electronics because of touching them when the static is in the air. This may actually cause a brief minor electrical shock going from your body to the electronic, then, in turn, may cause one to accidentally shot something out rendering the electronic that one touched useless (believe me, I know!)

Yes, you can purchase anti-static mats and even wear one if you fix or even work on computers and/or electronics.  But that could get expensive and even make your work area look like a war zone (as mine does!).

You can do yourself and others a favor and get a Humidifier for your home and/or office.  Having one of these can not only save your electronics, but also help with your allergies as the moist air can help with breathing issues and more.

Humidifiers can be purchased at local retail stores or at Amazon.com for an affordable price.  I always try and look for a top-filling one to make it easier to fill, maintain, and clean.

Here’s a few below:

Invest in what you have now – before it’s too late!
