Is your iPhone not ringing when you receive a call?  You’d be surprised at how many persons (especially the elderly) have problems with this, when it can be an easy fix for most situations.  Below can give you some ideas of what to try.

  1. Your external mute button is switched ON: On the upper left-side of the iPhone is a small switch that lets a user mute the phone.  Looking at the switch there are two sections.  When the section shows an orange side, the phone is on mute.
  2. Make sure a default ringtone is set: To make sure a default ringtone is set, go to Settings Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone and change it. Some ringtones are hard to hear, especially in loud situations.
  3. Reboot the iPhone: When all else fails, REBOOT!  This solves most problems.
  4. Is the volume UP: Make sure your iPhone’s volume is up to a point you can hear it.
  5. Is Focus Mode ON?Focus Mode is a new feature that one can turn on when they don’t want to be interrupted when working or doing other stuff.

Those are just some of the things you can try. As always, contact Apple Support with any questions or concerns.
