(Update): Rumor: An "unusual" event in Feb., iPad 3 announcement in March

An Japanese blog named Macotakara is reporting that Apple will have an “unusual event” sometime this month.  The same web site is also reporting that Apple has been ramping up production of the iPad 3, and the company is planning to release it sometime in March.

We’ll continue to follow this and report anything else when available.

Update: The Loop.com’s Jim Dalrymple, who is well connected with upcoming Apple Events is stating that the company will not hold such an event this month.
