No, we won’t be publishing Geekbenche’s tests about Apple’s Mac Mini Software Developer’s Kit

A few of our readers have asked me why I haven’t published a speed test from Geekbench on the Mac Mini that Apple is sending to registered developer’s so they can test their apps with the upcoming Apple Silicon chip.

I have a few reasons for this, and they are as follows:

Per Apple’s agreement, developers who sign up to get one of these test units will fall under what is known as a NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. An NDA means just as it sounds, the person(s) will not publicly disclose any information about the product that they are testing.
This is a TEST UNIT, and may not reflect the final product when the chip is released to the public by the end of 2020.
I feel that Apple should not only go after Geekbench for this disregard of the NDA, but also demand that the website be shut down or the article about the developers’ unit be removed from this, and all web sites that used this article.
Find and then suspend the user(s) from Geekbench from Apple Developer’s website for no less than 3 years AND go after them legally (as outlined in the NDA).
