In a major blow to Research In Motion, one of the world’s largest energy companies, Halliburon, has decided to dump their long standing agreement with RIM in favor for going to Apple and its iOS devices.

In an internal memo obtained by AppleInsider.com, the Houston Texas based firm said to its employees:

“Over the next year, we will begin expanding the use of our mobile technology by transitioning from the BlackBerry (RIM) platform that we currently use to smartphone technology via the iPhone,”

The memo goes on to say that this move is being done after “significant research” between both Android and iOS.

The move will be done within several months, and will be overseen by both Apple and Halliburon.
