As we reported last week, Apple is removing “copycat apps” that mimic another popular app.

In another move, the company is also warning iOS developers not to use 3rd  party marketers for help in advertising their apps.  These services are known for employing small “bots” to automatically download free apps, and then rely on in-app purchasing to ‘push up’ the app in the rankings on the iOS app store.  The company says that applying such practices could get that developer suspended from the store and have their app(s) removed.
