The included Notes app in iOS is powerful IF you know how to use it.  One of the things that this video didn’t cover is how to take a quick note using an iPad. But in order for this to work, one must have an Apple Pencil (1st or 2nd Generation).

Taking a quick note can come in handy, especially when your professor springs a formula on you that you could miss if you enable notes the known way.

Here’s how:

  1. Pick up the Apple Pencil.
  2. With the iPad in stand-by mode. tap on the screen.
  3. The notes app will quickly come up.
  4. Take note(s) as normal.
  5. That’s it.
