How to: Get rid of a failed installation on an iPad

For our first hint for 2013, this will work with all versions of the iPad.

Occasionally, you go to install an app from the app store, and the installation freezes.  You can’t even get the small “X” to delete the icon.  Fortunately, it’s easy to get rid of that failed installation and try again.  You have to soft reboot the iPad.  Never done that before?  Here’s how:

1.  Hold down the Home and the Power buttons at the same time.
2.  Don’t let go until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
3.  Let both buttons go.
4.  That’s it.  The failed installation should not appear again.
