When I first started in the computer field in the early 1980s, one of the first things I learned is to make a backup copy of whatever you’re currently working on, incase something unforeseen happens – especially when it comes to a Xcode project.

This is an easy process and is already available on your Mac.

Here’s how:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Go to the Folder where the project is.
  3. When you’re at the main folder of the project, [Right Click] on it.
  4. Select [Compress].
  5. The Mac will make a copy of all of the files and subfiles of the project.
  6. That’s it.

You can then take that new compressed file and back it up to an external source such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
