AT&T announces new 12 month plan called "Next"

On Tuesday, the company announced a new rate plan called “Next”.  The plan allows its customers to upgrade their smartphone or tablet every 12 months without costly down payments or activation fees.

The company is responding to a similar offer from Verizon which gives almost the same benefits.
