What have Apple and erectile-dysfunction drug Viagra got in common? They are both wildly-popular and hot items on the Chinese counterfeiting circuit. Little wonder then, that the iPhone maker hired the head of drug-maker Pfizer security to root out fake smartphones and tablets in China.

John Theriault, a former FBI agent and previously Pfizer’s chief counterfeit-catcher, caught Apple’s eye for tracking down fake Viagara in China. In diplomatic cables revealed by WikiLeaks, we learn Theriault in 2008 briefed then Apple CEO Steve Jobs on plans to hunt down rip-offs products made by the Cupertino, Calif. tech giant.
