The other day, I went on the Mac App Store and came across an app that caught my eye.  While I don’t normally recommend iOS or Mac apps on here, for this I’ll make an exception.

For those who are environmentally conscious, have you ever wished there was some way that you could surf the web AND save the environment one tree at a time?  Well, now you can.

An app called “Ecosia” is a search engine (powered by Microsoft Bing) and a Safari extension with a eco-conscious twist.  The organization donates 80% of its profits from search and display ads to conservation projects that plant trees worldwide.
