According to popular web site iFixIt who has completed their teardown and how to repair guide on the top tables has compiled a report and ranks the newer Apple iPads as “very poorly for repairability” but has given the Microsoft Surface tablet the lowest rate of repairability. But the Windows 8 based Dell XPS 10 get the highest mark for being simple to take apart – but then has the problem of the LCD fused to the protective glass layer that most other tablets have.
But offsetting these problems, the web site has said that the Apple iPad (all models) is the reliable tablet in its class.
