I was one of the first people to sign up for Discovery+ when it debuted in 2021, due to the fact that my girlfriend and I watched most shows that were on the Discovery Communications offerings such as 7 Little Johnsons, Gold Rush, Dr. Pimple Popper, and others.  The streaming service was a convenient place for all of our favorite shows and specials.  That is, until MAX came online last month.

When it did, I compared the content for the two streaming services, and much to my surprise, the content on both streaming services were identical.  While no official announcement has been given, I think Discovery Communications has begun the process of shuttering Discovery+ while building up MAX as the new destination.  This is also apparent in the lack of advertising for Discovery+ on its TV Networks.

So in closing, unless you have a specific reason to keep Discovery+, I think its safe to say that the streaming service won’t be around by the Fall.
