Xcode is an app that developer’s use to make apps for the Apple EcoSystem.  It’s always important to make sure one is using the latest version when developing software as it could contain bug fixes, enhancements, and other stuff to ensure developers deliver the best software that they can for iOS, Mac, tvOS, and watchOS.

Besides using software update, here’s a quick way to make sure you’re using the latest version of Xcode.

  1. Log in to your Apple Developer Account.
  2. Select “Software Downloads.”
  3. Select “Applications.”
  4. Go into Xcode on your Mac.
  5. Click “Xcode.”
  6. Click “About Xcode.”
  7. Now compare the version number to the number on the web site.
  8. If they match, you have the latest version.
  9. That’s it.
