Your iPhone and iPad have the ability to read virtually any text that’s currently on the screen by a finger gesture. In order for this to work, you may have to enable it in Settings. This feature will work in Mail, Notes, and other compatible apps.
Here’s how:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Turn Speak Selection ON.
- Exit Accessibility.
- Exit Settings.
Now for this example. open a note in NOTES.
- Hold and drag on the text you wish the device to read.
- A pop-up menu will appear.
- Tap the arrow > until you see the word SPEAK.
- Tap Speak.
- The device will speak the highlighted word(s) or sentence(s).
- That’s it.
