While their is hype about Wednesday’s announcement of the iPad 3, their are a lot of computer users out there that just cannot afford to buy one.  Because of this, some users maybe considering getting the iPad 2 once the iPad 3 hits the streets.  But then the question is, “Would newer iPad apps work on the iPad 2?”  The answer to that is usually “YES, BUT….

Unless the iPad 3 has some super-duper internal processor and design changes, chances are that any current or newer apps will work with the iPad 2, as long as the user keeps up with any operating system upgrades, and as long as the iPad 2 can run any of the operating system upgrades.

For example, I gave my older brother my iPad 1 when I got my iPad 2 last year.  As of this writing, he can still run the newer apps, surf the Internet, and basically still do what he needs to with my old iPad 1.  And, he still did not upgrade to the new iOS 5 (he’s running iOS 4.3).

The main reason to wait until after Wednesday – Price.  If past experiences are any indication, Apple and other stores will want to clear inventory for the next iPad.  This could mean a 20% – 40% drop on the current models.

Stay with AppleScoop.com this week for the latest information about any price or hardware changes.
