Apple's Developer's web site is down for "an extended period today"

On Thursday, Apple brought down its developer’s web site and posted the above message.  Starting Friday morning, registered developers took to FaceBook and Twitter asking why the web site is still offline, more than 24 hours after it first went down.

One Twitter user even tweeted his frustration by saying “Pretty astonished that we’re now beyond 24 hours of Apple iOS Dev Center maintenance downtime, haven’t seen that before. #HugeInconvenience” Jonathan Ozeran wrote on Twitter Friday afternoon.
