[Update]: Apple: Developer's Membership will not be effected because of downtime

On Friday, we reported that Apple’s Developer’s web site was offline for an extended period of time.  Now AppleInsider is reporting that Apple has said:

“As an unusually long maintenance for Apple’s developer portal continues, the company recently posted a message on the service’s holding page saying developer memberships set to expire during the period will be extended.”

The developer’s portal went offline on Thursday and has not been available since.

07/21/13: Update – The extension period will be one week.
