iPhone5CAs most of you know, Apple – and other companies – will begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C on September 13th at 12:00 midnight Pacific (3am Eastern).

Even though I won’t be ordering one, here are some tips from past experiences since I got my grubby little hands on the first iPhone back in 2007.  These experiences can be used for all pre-ordering web sites:

1) Be ready to order.  Make sure to have your credit card, your cell phone information, and patience ready.

2) Decide what color you want ahead of time.

3) Are you getting a case?  Which one?

4) Make sure your Internet connection is working and stable before ordering.

5)  If you’re upgrading a phone, have that information ready.

6)  After the ordering process, you should receive a confirmation e-mail on your order.

7)  The ordering process should take 20, 25, 30 minutes if the web site doesn’t get bogged down.

Apple and other web sites have been known to get bogged down with orders during the first 30 – 60 seconds after they open the “flood gates.”  If you have any problems with the process, please contact the respective company immediately, do not let it go until the morning.  All iPhones have been known to “run out” quickly.

Yes, I will do a how to next week when the pre-orders of the 5S is due out.

Let us know how it went below – and good luck!!!
