1. On an iPhone, you can block specific callers and customize your settings to automatically identify, screen, filter, and block unknown and spam calls.

    To enable call identification, go to the Settings app on your iPhone. Tap Apps, then tap Phone, and finally tap Call Blocking & Identification.

    From there, you can turn on one or more of the following options:

    Business Call Identification: This option uses information from Apple Business Connect or your carrier to identify the caller.

    Call Identification Apps: This option uses supported caller ID apps to identify the caller.

    To screen or silence unknown numbers, go back to the Settings app and tap Apps, then tap Phone.

    Choose one of the following options:

    Never: Call Screening is turned off, and your iPhone will ring when you receive a call from an unsaved number.

    Ask Reason for Calling: Calls from unknown numbers will be asked for more information before your iPhone rings.

    Silence: Calls from unsaved numbers will be silenced, sent to voicemail, and appear in the Recents list.

    When answering calls, Siri will speak in your iPhone’s default language. For more information, refer to the Change the language and region section on iPhone.

    To filter out unknown and spam calls, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

    2. Tap on the Apps tab and then select Phone.

    3. Toggle on the following options:

       Unknown Callers: This option removes calls from unknown numbers from your Recents list and directs them to the Unknown Callers list.

       Spam: This option silences calls identified by your carrier as potential spam or fraud, sends them to voicemail, and moves them to the Spam list.

    To prevent future calls from unknown callers, you can mark them as known. Here’s how:

    1. Open the Phone app.

    2. Tap the Filter button.

    3. Tap Unknown Callers.

    4. Tap Mark as Known next to the call you want to mark.

    5. Tap Mark as Known again to confirm.

    To remove a number from your known callers, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Phone app.

    2. Tap Contacts.

    3. Tap a contact.

    4. Tap Block Contact.

    To unblock a blocked contact, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

    2. Tap on the Apps tab and then select Phone.

    3. Tap Blocked Contacts and then tap Edit.

    4. Tap the Remove button and then tap Unblock.

    To view calls from unknown or spam callers, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Phone app on your iPhone.

    2. Depending on your Phone app layout, tap Calls (for the Unified layout) or Recents (for the Classic layout).

    3. Tap the Filter button in the top-right corner of your screen.

    4. Tap Unknown Callers or Spam to view calls from those categories.
