Apple removing copy cat apps from the iOS app store

A few Apple tech blogs are reporting that Apple has been removing iOS applications that are a obvious copy of a successful app.

For example, if a game even mimics a successful one such as Angry Birds, it will be removed and the developer notified as such.

Applications that “piggyback” off of successful apps such as Temple Run, Tiny Wings and Words with Friends were taken offline.

This problem has happened in the past and Apple has been criticized for not doing enough for the crackdown.
