Apple engineers are contacting some iPhone 4S owners to try to solve problems with battery life, says UK newspaper The Guardian. One owner says Apple asked him to install a monitoring program on his phone. Another says he got a call from an engineer who said he had read a forum post, and was “reaching out” to 4S owners for data. The engineer likewise asked to install a file, and said he would call back the next day to retrieve information, which was ultimately done by emailing a file after a sync. The worker also admitted that the company wasn’t close to a solution.
