How to Reset the iPhone 17
For those of you who got a new iPhone 17, here is how to reset the device if you ever have too:

Option 1: Reset / Erase Everything (Factory Reset)
Use this if you’re selling the phone, fixing serious issues, or starting fresh.

Open Settings

Go to General
-
Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone

Tap Erase All Content and Settings
-
Enter your passcode & Apple ID password to confirm
⏳ The phone will restart and erase everything.
Tip: Back up to iCloud or a computer first if you want your data later.
🔹 Option 2: Force Restart (Hard Reset)
Use this if the phone is frozen or unresponsive (no data loss).

Quickly press and release Volume Up

Quickly press and release Volume Down

Press and hold the Side button
-
Release when you see the Apple logo
🔹 Option 3: Reset Settings Only (No Data Loss)
Resets Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Face ID, Apple Pay, etc.

Settings → General
-
Transfer or Reset iPhone
-
Reset
-
Choose Reset All Settings
🔹 Option 4: Reset Using a Mac or PC (Recovery Mode)
Use this if you forgot the passcode or the phone won’t boot.

Connect iPhone to a Mac (Finder) or PC (iTunes)
-
Force restart (same steps as above) but keep holding Side button

Release when you see the Recovery Mode screen

Choose Restore
Which one do you want?

Selling or giving away → Erase All Content

Frozen screen → Force Restart

Network or system glitches → Reset All Settings

Locked out → Recovery Mode Restore
