If you’re one of the people that are not ready to upgrade to 10.15 yet, and don’t want to see those annoying reminders to upgrade, here’s how to temporarily disable those reminders:

  • If System Preferences is open, close it with [Command] + [Q].
  • Open Terminal (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
  • From the command prompt, type: sudo softwareupdate –ignore “macOS Catalina”
  • Press [Return].
  • Enter the Administration Password when prompted.
  • The command will execute, and you’ll never be prompted to update again.
  • Type Quit or Exit to close the Terminal window.
  • That’s it.
