How to create a Bootable USB MacOS Tahoe 26
For those of you who are trying the MacOS Tahoe beta, you know (or SHOULD know) that anything can happen, from corrupt data to not being able to boot into the computer.

That’s why it’s important to make some sort of emergency backup for that “oh sh*t” situation.
Here’s how:
- First, download the full MacOS Tahoe installer here.
- Connect a USB Flash Drive to your Mac.
- Open Disk Utility (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility).
- Format the USB Drive.
- Format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with a GUID Partition Map, and name it something like TahoeUSB.
- Now open Terminal, found from /Applications/Utilities or via Spotlight
- Run the following command (see Appendix A).
- Press [Return].
- Enter your Administration Password when prompted.
- Wait for the procedure to finish.
- That’s it.
Appendix A:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/TahoeUSB --nointeraction
