Sometime ago, the United States FCC mandated that all wireless carriers supply a means to get emergency information to its citizens in the event of a national emergency. AT&T and others will be ‘pushing’ out this update to all cell phones starting today, June 15th. Â Customers do not have to do anything for the update.
In response to the devastating tornado that hit Okalhoma City on Monday, U.S. wireless carrier AT&T announced it will be waiving all overage charges for those affected through June 30. This includes voice, data, and text messaging.
AT&T has announced that all mobile video chat applications, including Apple’s FaceTime, will work over its cellular network by the end of this year. No word on a specific date.
