DOJ officials, under the direction of Attorney General Pam Bondi, requested Apple to remove ICEBlock from its App Store. This decision follows claims by Trump administration officials that the tracking tool endangers law enforcement officers and aids illegal immigrants.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Bondi confirmed that the department had contacted the tech giant.
Bondi stated, “We reached out to Apple today demanding the removal of the ICEBlock app from their App Store. Apple complied with our request. ICEBlock is designed to put ICE agents at risk simply for performing their duties. Violence against law enforcement is an unacceptable red line that must not be crossed. The Department of Justice will continue to make every effort to safeguard our courageous federal law enforcement officers, who risk their lives daily to ensure the safety of Americans.”
The controversy surrounding ICE tracking apps has intensified after last month’s tragic shooting at an ICE field office in Dallas. This incident is the latest in a series of attacks that appear to target immigration enforcement officers.
Authorities reported that the suspect, Joshua Jahn, searched his phone for tracking apps, including ICEBlock, before opening fire on the facility from a rooftop. Jahn reportedly killed one detainee and left two critically injured. However, it was later revealed that the immigrants were not his intended targets. Tragically, one of the injured individuals, a 32-year-old husband and father of four, passed away this week.
