This information was revealed by current Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav during a briefing with the company’s senior executives. Bloomberg reports that Warner Bros. has already declined two bids from Paramount Skydance due to the low offer amounts.

The report suggests that Warner Bros. will soon request that potential buyers sign nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) within days. This process, which is now poised to escalate into a bidding war, necessitates NDAs to safeguard sensitive business information.

Apple, Paramount, and Amazon aren’t the only companies believed to have shown interest in Warner Bros. The report also mentions that both Netflix and Comcast are thought to be keen on acquiring its extensive movie and TV library.

The library of content is likely the primary reason behind Apple’s interest. While the newly rebranded Apple TV service has primarily relied on in-house content, this could soon change.

Warner Bros. owns the renowned HBO, a brand synonymous with high-quality, immensely popular content. By integrating HBO’s shows into Apple TV, Apple would instantly become home to some of the best television programs available.

HBO has produced numerous hits, including Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and The White Lotus, among others.

Market research firm Antenna indicates that 21% of US HBO subscribers also subscribe to Apple TV. This suggests that Apple TV subscribers are eager to access HBO content, making it a logical decision for Apple to bring it in-house.

Furthermore, this move would necessitate that current Peacock, Paramount+, and Netflix subscribers who also pay for HBO consider switching to Apple TV. This shift would significantly expand Apple TV’s reach and accessibility to a broader audience.
