Apple has begun to swing the electronic Ax on iOS Apps that appear to be “zombie” apps (or apps that have not been updated for a significant amount of time).
The app(s) will be taken out of the app store until the offending app is either updated or deleted by the developer. Any current customers who are using the app will not be effected and can continue using the app as normal.
Below is a copy of the email that developers got noticing them of the change:
