If you have not pre-ordered an iPad online, and if the reports are accurate, the Apple Retail stores will be out of the latest iPad model even before you can start your car on Friday morning.
Fear not! As we have put together some other retail outlets that will be opening at their regular times (10am at most locations) so your chances may get better at these alternate retail outlets (in the United States):
– AT&T Retail Stores.
– Best Buy.
– Radio Shack.
– Sam’s Club.
– Target.
– WalMart.
– Verizon Retail Stores.
If you’re going to be picking up the 4G/WiFi version, please allow a lot of extra time if you want to have the store activate the device for you, as past launch days were extremely busy, even when the stores had extra personnel around. Also, keep in mind that these networks will be extremely busy and bogged down for the first few hours of the initial release, so Internet speed times may be slow during that time.
