iCloud’s “Find My….” feature on iOS is a very powerful application if you know how to use it right.  It has the ability for a parent to keep track of a child as long as he or she has an iOS device and is ON.

Would you like to know when a friend or a member of your family gets to a destination?  With iCloud enabled on BOTH devices, you can.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the “Find My” app on the device that you wish to track.
  2. If asked, enter your iCloud username and password.
  3. Select the “People” option at the bottom of the screen.
  4. This will open your Contact list.
  5. Select the person(s) you wish to share your location with.
  6. You’ll also have the ability to tell iOS how long you want to share you location.
  7. Once that’s done, select the person you wish to share your location with.
  8. Tap “ADD”.
  9. Now tap “Notify Me”.
  10. It is here you’ll have a choice to be notified when that person arrives or leaves a location.
  11. The screen should be self explanatory.
  12. Don’t forget to tap “Create Notification once you’re done configuring it.
  13. You’ve now setup what’s known as a “geo-fence” for the user.
  14. That’s it.

There’s also an easier way to do the above, but it won’t notify you when someone gets to their destination (unless you’ve done the above steps first).

Here’s how:

  1. Open the “Find My” app on YOUR iOS device.
  2. Enter your iCloud username and password if asked.
  3. From the middle-top of the screen is a pull-down window.
  4. Select it.
  5. Now it’ll show you all iCloud connected devices and there current location.
  6. That’s it.

Happy tracking!
