Star Wars IX Gets Official Release Date

The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm announced today two major upcoming release dates. Star Wars: Episode IX is now set for release on May 24, 2019. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film will close out the third Star Wars trilogy. In addition, the fifth chapter of the Indiana Jones series is now confirmed for a July 10, 2020 release. NASA Finds Moon that looks like the Death Star

NASA has released an amazing photo of a moon that circles the planet Saturn. Named Tethys, the moon is mostly made of solid ice.  Like the Death Star, Tethys has a large, distinctive crater that NASA has named Odysseus. But unlike the Death Star, its rock core and icy surface protects it from internal combustion, and is not some sort of giant phaser ready to shoot down planets. …BUT WE CAN DREAM, CAN’T WE????

The next Star Wars Film will be called . . . .

Early Monday, Disney and LucusFilms have announced the name of the next Star Wars film: Star Wars: THE LAST JEDI. (TheVerge): Directed by Rian Johnson, the film is said to take up immediately after the final shot of J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens, when Daisy Ridley’s Rey was handing Luke Skywalker his old lightsaber. Skywalker, it would seem, is the last Jedi of the title, and while it’s not clear what the plot of the film is in any sense, the title alone could indicate the film will be largely centered around Mark Hamill’s character. Disney could receive $50 Million for the death of Carrie Fisher

(NYPost.com): Carrie Fisher’s death could be a windfall for Disney. The entertainment company, the distributor of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and the next two films in the franchise, could receive $50 million thanks to an insurance policy the company took out in the event Fisher was unable to fulfill her three-film contract. It’s set to be the largest single personal accident insurance claim payout ever, according to Insurance Insider. EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth to be Transformed in to the Death Star for Star Wars Special

(icFLORIDA.com): The Disney Parks Blog announced today that a special, after-hours event will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Epcot to celebrate Star Wars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the upcoming release of the film Rouge One: A Star Wars Story. Star Wars: Be on the lookout for hidden Easter Eggs References in Rouge One

On December 16th, fans of the Star Wars universe will be treated to its first movie spin off of the actual franchise, Star Wars: Rouge One. Rouge One: A Star Wars Story on track for Huge $130M Plus Debut in U.S.
